Aries

Aries

«Grieve not for those departed; That takes thee backward; Rise from darkness to brighter glory, Come, we grasp thy hands» (Atharva-Veda, 8.1.8).

Full moon in Aries on the 25th this month!

It’s a good turning point. If you know how to take advantage of it, as a small new beginning it will help you to move towards a more pleasant and favourable condition.

The square of Saturn makes this time not really easy, especially for those born in the first decade. There’s something you can learn though. Saturn basically requires nothing but cleanliness. Cleaning, śaucha, is a basic requirement of yoga, listed among the five niyamas in Patanjali Yoga. Niyamas are rules to be adopted and practiced to better yourself. Śaucha is physical and mental cleansing. It can be accomplished by: 1. cleaning up the body with a proper diet and purification techniques; 2. clearing the mind by letting go of everything that is no longer needed, all obsessive thoughts, all mental attachments.

It is an excellent opportunity, Aries, to learn how to let go and travel lighter towards the new. Prepare yourself with this short sequence:

Natarāja-āsana, king of the dancers pose, or dancing Śiva. King of the dancers is one of the names attributed to Śiva and is linked to the mythological image of Śiva dancing his anandatandava, or dance of bliss. The dance symbolizes the cycles of creation and destruction. Everything dies and regenerates, we need to know how to let go to open up to the new. // 1 min. per side.

Paścimottāna-āsana, stretch of the west or back of body. Since the purpose here is the ability to abandon yourself, you can use a support to lean the forehead.  Don’t look for stretching, don’t look for anything. If you are able to let yourself go, the feeling of relaxation is magnificent! // From 1 to 5 min.

Visualization. Sit down in a meditative posture. Take your time to relax all your muscles. Imagine a mountain with a lawn. Visualize a waterfall and a stream of clear, transparent, shallow water. Go near the waterfall, look at it, listen to the noise, the aromas around; immerse yourself into the water: in the waterfall or in the stream that flows a little further below. Think about the things that bother you, physical and mental problems, think that this flowing water takes away anything that bothers you. Let yourself be cleansed by this limpid mountain water. Then exit the waterfall or stream, observe the sensations after washing. // From 5 to 10 min.

TOTAL TIME: from 9 to 18 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «Let go».
