«These obstacles, distractions of the mind, are: sickness, dullness, doubt, carelessness, laziness, sense addiction, false view, non-attainment of a stage, and instability» (Yoga-Sūtra, I.30).
A moment of crisis.
All the three planets, Sun, Mercury and Neptune, which are supposed to ensure intellectual strength, form a square with Sagittarius, which is probably facing challenges in this period. There is uncertainty, confusion, communication difficulties and the feeling of being put to the test.
Yoga has a teleological concept of existence, that is it contemplates an ultimate goal. The purpose of existence, according to yoga, is to develop awareness to return to what was before the manifestation: the pure spirit (purusa) in the Brahmanical yoga or the union of spirit and matter (Śiva and Śakti) for Tantrism. Earthly experiences are inevitable and necessary, because they represent the evolutionary stages in the path that leads from ignorance to awareness. This implies that any crisis, challenge, problem, is seen as further evidence to understand, to elevate and grow internally emerging more and more from ignorance and illusion.
Get to work, Sagittarius, and face this moment with full force. The challenge can just be a step to accomplish your projects and finally reap the benefits. Keep your courage and mood high with this sequence:
Bhujanga-āsana, snake pose. The snake can take and digest big bites withhout difficulty. It periodically changes its skin and thus it is a symbol of regeneration. Observe how you have been able to transform yourself over time. You will still be. // From 30 sec. to 1 min.
Vīrabhadra-āsana, second variation. Vīrabhadra is one of Śiva’s terrifying forms. The position gives courage and determination, that is what you need to face the challenges of life. // 1-2 min. per side.
Baka-āsana, crane pose. Not an easy pose, but useful to remind you that not everything is immediately achievable. With perseverance, though, you can get a lot or even everything. Difficult does not mean impossible. // From 30 sec. to 1 min.
TOTAL TIME: from 3 to 6 minutes.
MANTRA of the MONTH: «I accept the challenge».
