The term jaya is used by Nāgoji Bhatta (1730-1810) in his commentary on the Yoga-sūtra of Patañjali and it indicates the achievement of stability. But Nāgoji indicates with jaya the achievement of stability in the process of samyama, the meditative process. Only after this a consciousness of samādhi dawns in the practitioner.
