Capricorn

Capricorn

«By concentrating upon the one that is created, each member of the creation separately as well as their combinations become known» (Śiva-sūtra, I.20).

Time to think!

Venus square, which is all in all a pleasant transit, lightens perhaps the burden brought by Saturn. Unfortunately, from mid-month, Venus becomes retrograde and it brings deep reflections too. Speaking of reflections, Capricorn should be quite comfortable in conjunction with Saturn, which is its governor. Nevertheless, the responsibility that the planet brings and the cuts it asks to do are never easy for anyone. Considering then that Uranus returns square, changes can be hard and difficult to digest.

In the practice of prānāyāma after concentration, when the rhythm is stable, the practitioner reaches a second stage called ghata-avasthā, “stage of unification”. At this level he can control senses and he recognises the Self in everything. On a subtle physiological level, he succeeds in unifying (ghatathe) prāna with apāna, the two vital streams that usually flow in opposite direction. Even more, the two flows unify with nāda, the inner sound, with bindu, the M resonance, and with the individual soul and the Supreme Soul.

To put pieces together, Capricorn, you first need to see them and recognize them separately. After a careful analysis (and practice) of the single elements, you can have the vision (and the experience) of the whole.

Be reflective with this sequence:

Makara-āsana, crocodile pose. Stop and think before acting, so that you won’t end in crocodile tears! Relax your whole body and calm your mind. It helps you calm down and clear your mind. // 2 – 4 min.

Ardha-Matsyendra-āsana, half Matsyendra pose. Consider all sides, be open to every possibility, look into every direction, though you keep centered. // 1-2 min. per side.

Anuloma-viloma prānāyāma, literally natural-unnatural breath, also called nādī-śuddhi or nādī-śodhana, or purification of the canals. Use this technique to stabilize your mind. Observe the right and left flows, see if you have any imbalances. Try to exhale twice the time of the inhalation! // From 3 to 10 min.

TOTAL TIME: from 7 to 18 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «I am open to possibilities».
