Taurus

«One achieves one’s objectives through one’s own efforts» (Rig-veda 5.44.6).

Keep awareness!

Pay attention Taurus not to let yourself go this month. If you do not keep self-control, Mercury opposition could bring you unnecessary debates, while Venus opposition can induce you to laziness and excess in eating and drinking. If, instead of giving in to pleasures or letting yourself be dragged along by emotions, you hold on discipline, Saturn trine will help you to lay the foundation for your future success. Not only what you do will flow smoothly, but it will leave an excellent impression on others too.

The pañcha-makāra, the “five M”, is one of the basic concepts of tantrism. Rebelling against the rigid culture of Brahmanism, the tantrika advised to make use of madya, māmsā, matsya, mudrā, maithuna (read liquor, meat, fish, toasted wheat and sex). These five names are probably symbols. It was said that only ignorant people understood them literally. However, even if taken literally, those five are not just mere objects of pleasure, but means for strictly disciplined techniques.

Basically, Toro, everything can have meaning and usefulness, even the lingering in idleness and pleasure, but it is necessary to maintain awareness so as not to risk losing the main path that you want to follow.

Be present to yourself with this sequence:

Tada-āsana, mountain pose. Still and stable. Try to understand where you are in your path and how you feel. // From 2 to 4 min.

Trikona-āsana, triangle pose. Establish your balance, a proportion between your parts. Look for openness and harmony. // 1-2 min. per side.

Visualisation. Relax in a meditative position. Take some time to relax all your muscles. Imagine you are sitting on a flying carpet. It rises from the ground and takes you out of the house, towards the sky, towards the sun. The air is pleasant, the sun’s rays heat you up. Pass over the ocean. You see an island, observe its shape. You decide to go down. It’s a peaceful, quiet place. Walk on the beach. The sea is calm. Only you are there and you can do whatever you want: explore the island, enter the water, relax, etc. When it’s time to come back, pick up your carpet and fly back to where you came from. You find yourself again in the room in a meditative pose. See how you feel. // From 5 to 15 min.

TOTAL TIME: from 9 to 23 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «I know what I am doing».
