Garuda-āsana

Garuda-āsana

From a distance it sees it

and gets ready,

there is no discomfort

if the mind

it’s steady.

  1. GOAL – The eagle is a symbol of power and majestic nature. Equipped with an excellent view, it can identify its prey from afar and it is capable of great concentration and precision to aim straight to the goal. It knows exactly what it is looking for and hits quickly and accurately. In garuda-āsana joints are closed and compressed like a spring ready to snap. If the mind is confused, however, and the goal is not clear, then you will feel a sense of compression and discomfort in the pose, because the sense of that compression is missing, it is no longer a push, but only a closure.
