A new approach!

«By perceiving yourself in all beings and all beings in yourself, you become self-sacrificing. Thus said Brahma» (Vasistha-Samhita, 6.44).

Last month I told you about how Neptune’s transit can bring you closer to spiritual matters. I hope it has been really like that, Scorpio, because this will help you in dealing with the themes of this month. This February begins, in fact, with a bit of nervousness. It seems like your ideas have to be tested. Perhaps you will reach a sort of crisis at the middle of the month. Do not give up and do not take refuge in a world of dreams. The second half of the month will be favourable even if you may still have some irritability or some conflict.

Indeed you can succeed if you learn to use a new approach for doing the tasks you have to do and communicating with others. The spiritual drive of Neptune, in fact, wants to bring you to develop more compassion and therefore to understand others in a wider and deeper, more empathetic way. Remember the words of Mére, the great spiritual teacher of the current of Aurobindo integral yoga: «Tolerance is full of a sense of superiority. It must be replaced by a total understanding». I hope that, as I wished last month, you have embarked on a path of yoga or meditation, because they are among the most appropriate means to reach that understanding.

Just a few minutes a day can open you to a new awareness:

Setubandha-āsana, bridge pose. Open your heart and build a bridge between you and the other. Remember others are there too! // 1-2 min.

Marīci-āsana, sage Marīci twist. With your hear open, look around you. // 1-3 min. per side.

Concentration. Sit in a meditative position and take some time to relax all your muscles. Think of all the events of the day, what you said, done, felt and how you reacted to such events, the emotions you experienced, even the most subtle, the nuances … until the moment you arrived here to sit down. Observe how you feel now. // From 5 a 15 min.

TOTAL TIME: from 8 to 23 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «I comprehend the one who speak to me». Think of the etymology of the word comprehend, from the latin cum-prendere, take with, include, embrace fully. It is not just a matter of understanding, but of being sympathetic (sym-pathos) to the one who speaks. You will get to this by «perceiving yourself in all beings and all beings in yourself»!
