Define Yourself!

«(So you should meditate:) when my desires do not produce knowledge, then who am I? In fact, being absorbed in the essence I am, and identifying myself with that, then I become that »(Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra, 97, Dhāranā on “Who am I?”).

This sūtra might be not so clear to you, as well as your situation is not that clear and stable as the beginning of the month. Don’t worry, it will work out soon, but you need a little effort on your part. Jupiter trine prepares you for your birthday with positivity, health and creative potential that will bring you new ideas for your New Year. But you must maintain a certain amount of realism and objectivity. There are planets asking you to look into yourself and try to understand who you are, what you want. You can think that the efforts you make are useless, but this is due to your pessimism linked to past wounds.

So go back to the dhāranā of the quotation. Who do you want to be, Aries? Who do you want to become? What you’ve done so far and what you are doing, does it correspond to your desires, to the expression of the truest part of yourself? These are big questions, at the base of the whole path of yoga. Take advantage of the Sun and Jupiter positivity to build a new future and define yourself.

These few exercises can help you understand more about yourself:

Kurma-āsana, turtle pose. Relax and observe where your thoughts go. // 1- 2 min.

Utkata-āsana, literally the unstable pose, but known as the powerful pose and the yogic chair too. Strong and firm on your legs, try to relax in this instability and in this effort. Take stock of yourself. // From 30 sec. to 1 min.

Concentration. Sit in a meditative position. Put a flower in front of you. True, if possible, otherwise the image of a flower. Take some time to relax all your muscles. Then contemplate the color and shape of the flower. Observe its beauty. Think of the process by which it is born, how it is formed, how it blooms. Reflect on how its shape is necessary for its function. // From 5 to 15 min.

TOTAL TIME: from 7 to 18 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «I define my route».
