Mala-āsana

Mala-āsana

Sore ankles

is what you feel,

when with waiting

you cannot deal.

But if that virtue

you try to learn,

releasing weights

is what you’ll earn.

SOLUTION:

PATIENCE

Asiatic people often crouch in this pose when they have to wait for a bus, for example. This pose allows you to unload the weights from your back and relax the lower back. If you are a patient person, you resigns yourself to stand still and you don’t take the wait as a further burden of life, as if waiting made everything become more dramatic. Impatience often manifests itself through legs, which cannot stand still (somebody walk up and down, others shake their legs). Legs stillness in mala-āsana makes impatient people somatize in the most “distant” part of the legs, ankles, which in many ways represent the unconscious and where all the weight is felt (even the back weight!).

WARNINGS

Psychosomatics values are to be taken into consideration once you have eliminated any mechanical or physiological cause for the same disease. The same values can vary according to personal experiences.
