Virabhadra-āsana III

Virabhadra-āsana III

If you keep it,

you’ve got the strength

of an heroic leap;

but if you lose it,

you seem to clumsily

fall in a heap.

SOLUTION:

ALIGNMENT

When the raised leg, the back, the head and the arms are all on the same line, the pose expresses all its balance, its strength and its beauty. A common mistake is to try to bring the torso parallel to the ground, regardless of alignment. In this way, however, the pose is ungraceful and psychologically fails to confer those elements of self-esteem and determination that this āsana, like all other warriors variations, would confer.

WARNINGS

Psychosomatics values are to be taken into consideration once you have eliminated any mechanical or physiological cause for the same disease. The same values can vary according to personal experiences.
