Paridevana – Complaint

«All created beings are unmanifest in their beginning, manifest in their interim state, and unmanifest again when annihilated. So what need is there for lamentation?» (Bhagavad-gītā, 2.28).

In this verse Krishna wants to shake Arjuna’s conscience and invite him to fight according to his duty. Arjuna, in a big crisis, would gladly avoid this obligation, preferring to retire to a simple and contemplative life. It is a very disputed passage, because the Lord invites the warrior to kill his own relatives. Actually, in the global context this is the less harmful choice.

Nor is it so simple to think that they will not die, because they have simply never been born, but have passed from a state of manifestation to one of non-manifestation.Such an argument cannot certainly serve as a justification in any context, just as a fatalistic view of things cannot always help.

The point is, Sagittarius, that you risk sinning with optimism and maybe even a little arrogance, thinking that you can escape your duties and that everything will come for free only because maybe so far it has arrived easily. So don’t complain if you still have to work hard to get what you want. It is a delicate period and perhaps there is a tendency towards laziness. I wouldn’t make it a drama, because at the end of the month you wake up and start with ideas and desire to learn again, with or without Krishna’s incitement!
