Prema – love

«After breaking through the aforementioned coverings of the three modes of nature, one should act only in pure love of God, remaining perpetually in the mood of a servant serving his master, or a lover serving her beloved» (Narada Bhakti-sūtra, 66).

Bhakti-yoga is the path of devotion. It is said that for every type of person there must be a type of yoga that allows to reach enlightenment. So for emotional, altruistic people, prone to service and perhaps less to study, to heavy work or to self-control, the way of bhakti allows to reach communion with Brahman. However, according to the great master Vivekananda every yogin should develop all types of yoga, because each person carries aspects of each type. We are all devoted to something or someone at least for a while, we all experience love in life. Those who don’t, are usually considered unfortunate people.

It’s the month of love, Gemini. Forget the tensions of work, the projects for changing and the commitment to acquire the material assets you aspire to. This is not the moment of materiality, you don’t even have ideas so sure about where you want to go and what you want to change. Instead, enjoy what life offers you now: magnetism, creativity, health, affection. Now is the time to satisfy your spiritual desires, of communion of soul. On the other hand, you will be more inclined to take it easy and indulge in pleasures. Again: try to focus on inner pleasures rather than on those of the senses. You will lay a foundation of serenity that will help you later to better pursue your goals at work or in material life too.

Increase heart strength with this sequence:

Setubandha-āsana, bridge pose. Open your heart and build a bridge between you and the other. United and open you can have fun! // 1-2 min.

Dhārmika-āsana, devotee pose. Never forget that there is something bigger than you, something you can not control.  // From 1 to 3 min.

Paścimottāna-āsana, stretch of the west or back of body. Let the ego surrender and enjoy with confidence what life offers you. // From 2 to 5 minutes.
