Anumāna – reasoning

«Valid cognitions are perception, inference (anumāna), and valid testimony» (Yoga-sūtra, 1.7)

This birthday has brought more reflections on the passing of time, the advancing age, the struggles and the fatigue of life than ever. You are again, Cancer, reflecting on the depths of life, but with a sense of discouragement and low vitality. However, as you still have a need for movement and some ideas in your mind, why not take the good and constructive side of that all? If you doubt that there is none, you’re wrong. Reflecting on what has been can mean understanding that you have to close with the past to take a new road; feeling old can mean having your own life and health at heart and therefore taking care of yourself with love and sweetness. In short, a concept doesn’t bring only one result as inference, you can think in another direction too!

Cancer August 2019

Marīci-āsana, position of the sage Marīci.

Stop to thinking, but consider all aspects of an issue. Look on all sides. You will notice that on one side it’s more difficult for you to twist. On one side it is more difficult to grasp your hands behind the back and open the chest. Practice at least a couple of times a week, hold for two minutes on each side.

Awareness exercise:

For every thought of something that you have lost or that is tiring you, write down something you have acquired in recent times. Reread your list at the end of the month: if it is very long you will notice not only how many positive things you have gained, but also how often your mind dwells on negative thoughts!

Mantra of the month:

“Creative thinking”.
