Svara – the flow
«The favourable flow of the swarm grants capability to an incapable person whereas it (an unfavourable svara) makes even a capable person incapable. Since all living entities are bound by the reaction of their karma, one should act according to one’s svara.» (Śiva Svarodaya, 99).
The svarodaya-vijnāna is the “knowledge of good fortune resulting from the passage of air through the nostrils”. It is a divinatory technique that observes the flow of the breath to predict events and luck. The practice presupposes an active part too: you can change and influence the future by modifying the respiratory flow.
If the first decade of Scorpio still feels the consequences of the great upheavals of Uranus; if the second is still touched by the spirituality of Neptune, which leads her to daydream; the third decade of the Scorpio can count on an absolutely calm month, without any planet to disturb it, neither good nor bad. The only request to all three is a reflection on one’s inner life, on one’s karma. It is a good time to take stock of yourself in a calm and objective manner and change what can and should be changed.
IN PRACTICE
Vakra-āsana, twisting pose, standing variation.
Open your lungs keeping your elbows back. Be careful not to rotate the pelvis. Listen to the sensations on both sides. Run it every morning 1 minute per side.
Awareness exercise:
Think of an aspect of yourself or your life that you would like to change. Sit in a meditative position and concentrate on the exact opposite of that aspect. Try to capture every nuance as if it were an object to be observed. Don’t judge, just observe. Perform this exercise twice a week for 10 minutes.
Mantra of the month:
“My breath can change me.”
