Animisha – vigilant
«Once, in a holy place (animisha-kshetre) in the forest of Naimiṣāraṇya, great sages headed by the sage Śaunaka assembled to perform a great thousand-year sacrifice for the satisfaction of the Lord and His devotees.» (Laghuyoga-vasistha, 10).
The kshetre indicates a sacred place such as the battlefield on which the whole revelation of the Bhagavad-gītā takes place. In the case of the verse above the place is holy for Vishnu, the one who is animisha, that is, who never blinks, who is always alert. Vishnu is the preserving god, He maintains the status of what exists and as such cannot be distracted.
Pay attention Cancer to how you welcome what happens to you this month. Maybe good opportunities come, but you can’t see them because you’re tired, suspicious, lazy, arrogant or just too dreamy to see what’s going on in the real world. Stay with your eyes open and with your feet on the ground!
IN PRACTICE
Nethra vyayanam, eyes exercises

A Zen story tells of a monk who, after ten years of apprenticeship as a Zen teacher, visits a renowned Master. On a rainy day he knocks on his door. The Master lets him in and asks: “Where did you leave the umbrella, left or right of your sandals?”. The monk, not knowing how to answer, studied another ten years with the Master.
