Sādhaka – practitioner
«By zealous, spontaneous effort » (Shiva-sūtra, 2.2).
The word sādhaka comes from the root sādh which means “to realize”. Commonly translated as a “practitioner”, the sādhaka is somebody, who is committed to applying yoga in order to achieve self-fulfillment.
Do you know that saying “whoever wants to look beautiful has to suffer”? Well maybe more than for beauty, I would adopt it for well-being. Is it a contradiction? It depends on what you mean by the word “suffer”. If suffering is not feeling well, pain, anguish, then the proverb is absurd both for well-being and for beauty. If, on the other hand, by “suffering” you mean a candid idea of sacrifice, commitment, patience (with that proverb I have the image of the mother brushing her daughter’s long hair, who in turn complains about the knots), then it can be plausible. You are making your life more beautiful and enjoyable, Capricorn, keep working

What are the acts or things that make life more pleasant and beautiful? Every evening think about what you did during the day and look for a small gesture that made you better, that perhaps brought pleasure or joy to your loved ones or someone else, that made you feel satisfied and serene even for just a moment.
