Aquarius

«By virtue an ascent to a higher region is obtained by vice a descent into a lower. Deliverance is gained by knowledge, and bondage by the contrary» (Sāmkhya-kārikā, 44).

Even too much diligence and seriousness!

Aquarius is concentrated and busy this month. Thanks to Mars in the sign, it is so energetic that it can work hard with excellent performance. Its Governors, Uranus and Saturn, are united to bring the desired changes, which are to be achieved anyway with effort and commitment. After the equinox it will calm down a little and it will be more reasonable. Just as well, because the risk is to neglect love with attitudes of detachment and nervousness.

Kriyā-yoga, the yoga of action or preliminary yoga, is composed of three elements: discipline (tapas), study or self-knowledge (svādhyāya), surrender to God or trust (Īśvara pranidhāna). These three are essential requisites for whatever you want to undertake in life. You do not start making a cake if you get distracted watching TV; if you do not know the recipe and your ability to count, weigh, discern flour from sugar; if you are sure that it will not be good. Sometimes even after doing everything right, something could go wrong – for example, there can be a power cut during leavening. You need to commit yourself and be confident to succeed in what you want. But you must avoid arrogance too, because not everything is in your hands.

All your efforts are fine, Aquarius, but be careful not to neglect those who love you and not to get stuck into the trap of ego. Look for a balance with this sequence:

Kūrma-āsana, turtle pose. Take a moment to withdraw into yourself. Observe the flow of thoughts and see where it takes you. // From 1 to 3 min.

Dhārmika-āsana, devotee pose. It’s a typical prostration pose. Never forget that there is something bigger than you, something you can not control. // From 1 to 3 min.

Ujjāyī prānāyāma, respiro che dà la vittoria o respiro vittorioso. breath that gives victory or victorious breath. Sitting in a comfortable meditative position, breathe and listen to the slow and deep breath. Be patient and calm. Use this breath during the day in any position to calm down and stabilize the mind. Try to exhale twice the time of the inspiration! // From 3 to 6 min.
