Scorpio

«Deed which is condemned by the Vedas and the social law, an attitude of ignominy in them, is called Hrī (modesty)» (Vasistha Samhitā, I.62).

Respect for others!

Scorpio must be careful to take the best advantage out of this very rich period. It has Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Neptune on its side. This means that you can count on a period of optimism, self-confidence and attractiveness, clear goals and high ideals, and a good general health. Everything ok as long as you can manage Mrs square, which makes you contentious; Mercury arrogance, which could make you not consider others’ point of view;  and Neptune fog, which makes you daydream, instead of having things done.

Hrī, modesty, is among the twelve yamas (observations, abstinences) according to Uddhava-gītā, part of the sacred text Bhāgavata-purāna. In general we think of modesty as the consciousness of the limit of your own possibilities. Buddhism translates hrī as “self-respect” or “conscientiousness”. It indicates a behaviour, in which you have a serious and wise attention to your actions and those of others and you avoid doing actions, which are not virtuous.

All this, Scorpio, to remind you not to boast too much, to have respect for youself and for others, and to act wisely. Check your ego with this sequence:

Setubandha-āsana, bridge pose. Open your heart and build a bridge between you and the other. Remember others are there too! // 1-2 min.

Dhārmika-āsana, devotee pose. It’s a typical prostration pose. Never forget that there is something bigger than you, something you can not control.  // From 1 to 3 min.

Marīci-āsana, sage Marīci twist. With your hear open, look around you. // 1-3 min. per side.

TOTAL TIME: from 4 to 11 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «I am with others».
