Aries

Dhairya – courage

«The following six bring speedy success:– Courage, daring, perseverance, discriminative knowledge, faith, aloofness from company». (Hathayoga-pradīpikā, I.16).

Since you read this horoscope and you presumably still lead a normal social life, you should consider just the first five point. I wouldn’t advise you to abandon public contact. One contrary, you will probably be in touch with people more than ever and it will be a good thing, because contacts may represent opportunities.

Your personal New Year stimulates you to think of new ideas for your growth. You will feel optimistic, especially in the second half of the month when your ideas will be clear, your relationships pleasant, your health good and your energy high. All this positivity will allow you to forget for a while the demands of slow planets, which ask you to reflect on your projects, on your identity, on the wounds of the past and on patience.  This is the right moment to take courage and determination, because everything can be overcome and a door can be opened towards a new path.

Repeat those five qualities as if they were a mantra, Aries, and reflect above all on the term dhairya. In this version of Pradīpikā, it is translated as “courage”. In other contexts it is reported as “firmness”, “calm” and “constancy”, “patience”, “strength of mind”.

A few minutes of practice are enough to increase enthusiasm, courage and determination:

Chaturangadanda-āsana, four limbed staff. Strong arms make you feel the determination to get what you want. // From 30 sec to 1 min.

Vīrabhadra-āsana II, Warrior II. I’ve always seen those born under the sign of Aries executing this pose perfectly. It is the pose that represents you the most. It stimulates the determination already inherent in Aries. // 1 min. per side.

Mālā-āsana, garland pose. For patience. // 1-2 min.

TOTAL TIME: 4 to 5 minutes.

MANTRA of the MONTH: «enthusiasm, courage, perseverance, right understanding, determination».
