Ādarśa – ideal

«When there is no distinction of intention between the purusa and the perfect sattva, there is experience for the purpose of the other [purusa]; from samyama on purpose being for the self, there is knowledge of purusa. Hence are born intuitive hearing touching, tasting, and smelling». (Yoga-sūtra, 3.36,37).

Ādarśa in the Yoga-sūtra is the intuitive vision, the highest knowledge that is obtained when you understand the separation between the self and matter. Ādarśa in fact indicates the act of perceiving with the eyes, but it is a “mirror” and “the ideal perfection” too. This last meaning recalls what the sūtras seek: a perfect, ideal knowledge that goes beyond the coarse knowledge of things.

Believing that ideal perfection can exist is certainly a powerful engine for action and for change: to react to a stagnant situation or to realize your dreams, you must be a little idealistic and believe that change is possible. The problem with idealism is that it sometimes extends to arrogance or fanatical conviction. In this case, the desire to impose your point of view on others denotes the insecurity and uncertainty that lie behind your own initiatives. It is normal to have fears, Gemini, but do put the blame on others. Learn to restrain yourself and release any tension or fear with physical activity. Instead, use idealism to charge you with energy and be able to take advantage of the opportunities that will come at the end of the month. Then you will have all the right means to catch them: energy, clearer ideas, vitality.

Balance your mood with this short sequence:

Jātharaparivartana-āsana, abdominal rotation. Relax in this pose, let your whole body collapse onto the ground and enjoy the pleasant massage of the abdomen given by your breath // 2-3 min. on the side.

Tada-āsana, mountain pose. Stop and stand for a moment, stop and think. Establish your center before any action or word. // From 1 to 5 min.

Anuloma-Viloma prānāyāma, literally natural-unnatural breath, also called nādī-śuddhi or nādī-śodhana, that is cleansing of the channels. For awakening your mind and keeping it stable and calm. Try to exhale twice the time of the inhalation! // From 3 to 10 min.

TOTAL TIME: from 8 to 21 minutes

MANTRA OF THE MONTH: «I respect your ideas».
