Ishya – spring
«Of the hymns in the Sāma Veda I am the Brhat-sāma, and of poetry I am the Gāyatrī. Of months I am Mārgaśīrsha [November-December], and of seasons I am flower-bearing spring» (Bhagavad-gītā, 6.23).
There are many names in Sanskrit to indicate spring. In the verse above for example the term kusuma-ākarah is used, which literally means “the shape of the flowers”. Several other names are instead related to love such as kamala, kanta. Others like ṛturāja indicate that spring is “the king of seasons”.
In Europe, perhaps more than in India, spring is linked to rebirth and equinox of March
it really symbolizes your rebirth, Libra. A beautiful moon in trine will make you harmonious and positive, ready to face the rest of the year, the year of your redemption. Finally Saturn loosens its grip with the arrival of spring. It will ask you to commit yourself again to building your future, but without oppressing you. You are likely to feel nervous anyway, because in this path you are digging into the depths of your sense of yourself and you may find that you lack self-esteem or find fears. It is a good time to overcome them!
Kusuma-āsana, open flower pose
Ready to blossom, it doesn’t matter if you can’t straighten your legs, look for harmony and balance. Try it every day for a minute.
Write down all the fears that arise this month. Draw a colored flower next to each annotation.
