Krīdā – pastime
«In the course of my playful wandering, I arrived at Śrī Mathurāpurī, where I heard the recitation of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and other devotional scriptures of the local brāhmaṇas» (Brihad-bhagavatamrita, 2.4.2).
In Dharmashastra, the religious law, krīdā are the games and the recreational activities. They were part of the Indian education system, which wanted to develop both the outer and inner dimensions of a person. Krīda (also written with a short a) generally indicates sport, pastimes, games, pleasure, entertainment.
What a beautiful month! Take advantage of it, Cancer. How do you plan to enjoy it? You may finally indulge in revelry and daydreaming, or sign up for that course you’ve been thinking about for some time; maybe you can go for a walk in the warm hours enjoying the little time of light and heat that November allows. Or stay with friends, enjoy the company. Or maybe reflect on old wounds to understand that they can be overcome, that life always offers something else. For a month you can also enjoy laziness, but don’t discard the idea of learning something from that too.
Ardha kapola-āsana, partial pose on the head
Why not? I have nothing to do and enjoy being upside down. Unpretentious, without seeking the perfection of shirsha-āsana.
Even when you are working savor the single moments, albeit brief, where you can stop. Observe how you feel: can you find pleasure in this brief moment of rest?
